9 Raising wise children begins with a simple principle. Wise parents regard the Lord highly and teach their children to do the same. Teach this well and you give your children a foundation for all of life, an anchor that will hold them steady through the storms and a pair of glasses that will help them see clearly the only adequate world and life view. The Book of Proverbs begins with nine verses that serve as a prologue or introduction to the Book. These verses serve to unfold the purpose and theme of Proverbs.
